So I read about the new Vans LX a while back and have been waiting patiently for them to go on sale. Guess what? They have finally been released! I can't tell you how excited I am for these shoes! I've always been a huge fan of Vans with their clean lines and ridiculously large selection of colors and patterns. You can basically have a shoe to match every outfit in your wardrobe.
Vans have out done themselves with this new addition. Not only are these shoes made specifically for cyclists but they come with a cute matching saddle bag. As a safety feature these shoes features 3M Reflective material woven into the laces as well as applied to the heel logo for night riding. You know the way the soles of your shoes get eaten by the metal parts on your pedals? Never let this happen again! There honestly aren't a lot of shoes on the market that can handle the abuse of metal toeclips, these bad boys have a galvanized rubber toe cap that’s wrapped in double stitching and include a reinforced sole. The LX are a little more expensive then other Vans on the market retailing at around $70.00. But with how much longer these shoes are going to last as well as the matching saddle bag they are a steal.
I also got some intelligence on some other cycling specific shoes that are being released by Vans in Spring 2009. I do not have a whole lot of information on these yet but they look super sleek and very stylish, plus they also come with a Vans cycling cap. These shoes look like they are composed of die cut hard leather with matching laces, they are going to be available in several different colors. I love the super thin laces and dyed hard leather. The rubber toe cap on the brown model are two-toned to match the dye. I have no idea how much they are going to run but they do look pretty sweet.
